THE WINNERS OF THE 16TH EDITION ON DISPLAY AT THE FORT BARD

The winning photographs on display at the Fort Stables from 26 March to 26 April 2023

The Stables of the Fort Bard (AO) will display, from 26 March to 26 April 2023, the winning and mentioned photographs of the 16th edition of the international nature photography contest “Fotografare il Parco”, organized by Gran Paradiso, Stelvio, Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise Italian National Parks, and de la Vanoise French National Park, with the patronage of Alparc, Federparchi and the participation of the media partner “La Rivista della Natura”.

The four protected areas are divided by hundreds of kilometres, but they are together in the aim of preserving a heritage of biodiversity that is unique for its beauty and richness. They thus want to continue the cultural path for nature images that they have undertaken so far.

The images on display show the landscapes and inhabitants that you can meet within the four protected areas: the chamois struggling for survival in the mountains, the slow flow of night clouds above the rocky mountains, the delicate opening of buds in the forest at the end of winter. There is more: wide views, animals, and plants.

The images will allow you to witness instants of life in our mountains: moments that, without the attentive gaze and quick reflexes of the photographers, could be missed. For a moment, the world of nature opens to our eyes with all its beauty.

THE WINNERS OF THE XVI EDITION HAVE BEEN SELECTED

Award-winning photos on display at Fort Bard (AO) from 26 March to 25 April 2023

The jury of the international contest “Fotografare il Parco”, organized by Stelvio, Gran Paradiso, Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise and de la Vanoise National Parks, with the patronage of Alparc, Federparchi and the participation of the media partner “La Rivista della Natura”, has met a few days ago.

Now in its XVI edition, the contest dedicated to the protected areas, partners of the initiative, once again aroused great interest among landscape and nature photography enthusiasts.

For the contest, there were, actually, over 420 participants and over 3,100 photos submitted.

The large numbers were matched by the high quality of the competing images. Photographs often of high aesthetic, narrative, or descriptive value, capturing the beauty and peculiarities of the organising parks in the moment of the shot.

The three overall winners were very different, both in the subjects depicted and in the photographic approach.

The photograph “Sopravvivenza” (Survival) by Emilio Ricci was placed first. A chamois crouched and partially covered by blizzard snow tells of the constant challenges for survival faced by mountain animals. “Velo di nuvole” (Veil of clouds) was placed second, a long night exposure taken in Valsavarenche by Luca Nasigrosso, where the slow movement of the clouds covers the mountain reliefs with a veil. The image “Tra inverno e primavera” (Between winter and spring) by Elisa Confortini was placed third, where on a foggy winter day, in the still bare forest, the opening of buds heralds spring.

15 FEBRUARY: THE JURY MEETING

As scheduled, the jury of "Fotografare il Parco" met yesterday.

The qualified panel of judges - chaired by Lello Piazza and composed of Marco Antonini, Véronique André, Wolfgang Platter, Mirko Sotgiu, Pietro Greppi by proxy of Francesco Tomasinelli, Patrick Folliet, Marcella Tortorelli and Massimo Favaron - had to face a difficult task, given the quantity and quality of the photographs submitted.

EVALUATION MEETING

We inform you that the jury meeting will take place on February, 15th. The winning photographs will be announced after the eventually technical check.
